Le Jules Verne

Tour Eiffel
5 Avenue Gustave Eiffel
Paris 75007
-south entrance of the eiffel tower-

Christmas eve lunch
Best meal of my life.....so far
The BEST dining experience in every sense of the word
Every course had it's own table setting which basically meant we got new utensils 7 times

After we decided to try the Menu Degustation, we asked our server if we could have the fromage sampler. He told us not to bother because we were about to eat a LOT of food. Good thing he said that because we did end up having a lot to eat. It was a little overwhelming, but every bite was bliss.

I'm thankful that I can now say I experienced an Alain Ducasse meal. Ducasse is the only chef to hold 19 Michelin stars throughout his career. NINETEEN!!!

T and I in their private elevator about to go up

the view from our table. We got a table by the window

prettiest table setting I ever did see

we both went for the Menu Degustation which basically meant we ate everything above

this came with every meal

Alain Ducasse (house) champagne. you know it's good quality when you're tipsy halfway through one glass

course 1: duck foie gras and poultry layers, crunchy vegetable salad, toasted country bread

my creation

course 2: pan seared scallop, potato, cooking jus with Mont-d'Or

close up of the beautiful dish. I almost didn't want to eat it. Petals and caviar go together

course 3: pan seared turbot, watercress/caviar, champagne sauce

course 4: grand veneur style venison, winter vegetables

lemon flavored cream that went with the shortbread

course 5: wild strawberry shortbread, lightly tangy fresh cream cheese

course 6: tower bolt, dark chocolate praline

hazelnut ice cream that went with the chocolate praline

Right when you thought your meal was over........BOOM
they come out with this plate
I threw the towel in right after this

chocolate flavored marshmallow

more marshmallows

that bill was painful to look at, but it was worth every euro. I'd do it again

got a pic of the kitchen staff on our way out

They give out a bag of madeleines on the way out to every diner....they were delicious (of course).
We took the opportunity to use their private door to go down and see the view of the city from the second level of the eiffel tower. It's an added bonus so you don't have to pay extra and be surrounded by the rest of the tourists trying to go up the tower.
