Bogart's

166 W. Hillcrest Drive
Thousand Oaks, CA 91360
www.muvico.com

Muvico in Thousand Oaks has an awesome special during the weekdays
Monday to Thursday from 6-9pm
For $25 you get appetizer + dinner at Bogart's & movie + popcorn
So of course we had to hit that up
I went with Sarah and her friend Amy

My starter - house caesar salad

Sarah & Amy both got chicken wings

Sarah's entree - Bogart taco (chicken)

Amy's entree - mac n cheese with applewood bacon, roasted bell pepper in spicy cheese sauce

Mine - Bogart burger

The food was good. I stayed sober since i've decided to quit alcohol for a bit. I think it might've been more enjoyable had i been a little liquored up. The movie however was horrible. Abduction is definitely only for Taylor Lautner fans which Sarah is. The deal was definitely worth it.

Kabuki (Phoenix, AZ)

This is a late entry because I completely forgot about my Phoenix trip from 3 weeks ago
My good friend Mel moved from Oxnard to Phoenix a few years back and i finally got to visit her
I landed in Arizona around lunch time so we hit up her favorite sushi place as soon as we left the airport

she loves this because she doesn't dig taking shots of sake

we were pretty tipsy after we killed that whole thing

San Diego Home Cooking

We were originally going to hit up my sister's favorite brunch place for crepes, but oddly enough they were closed because of the holiday weekend. Weird
Her husband decided to take us to his favorite spot for some home cooked goodness
San Diego Home Cooking has 5 locations. We visited Lake Murray Cafe because it's the one closest to their house
I ended up eating so much I passed out as soon as we got home

child portion pancakes & eggs

my eggs benedict. this had to be the worst thing of it's kind i've ever had

Alison's waffle

Leo's french toast

Claire's portugese sausage with rice and egg

Da Kine's

Da Kine’s means “the stuff” in Hawaii’s pidgin English. I LOVE Hawaiian food, but the food here didn't taste anything like what I've had in Hawaii. When I used to go to Hawaii every few weeks all I would ever eat was local food. The biggest difference was the portion. Hawaiian portion is extra large and then some, but the portion here was about half that size. I'm glad I tried this place, but it's definitely not a place I'm itching to go back to anytime soon.
