Hook Burger

After spending about 3 hours downing 19 types of wine, Sarah and I decided it would be a genius idea to have burgers. Her car happened to be parked close to this place so we figured why not.
My first visit here was awesome, the second time I was hating life. This probably had to do with the fact that I was merlot/pinot/syrah wasted.
I actually got kicked out of the last winery we visited. You know you're OG when you get booted from a winery.

Sarah's Bistro burger: roasted red pepper and onion, melted jack, avocado, lettuce, tomato, honey dijon mayo

Mine. Prime burger: 5 oz prime chuck, caramelized bourbon onions, lettuce, tomato, honey dijon mayo

This is my second visit to BWW. It just so happens I ended up going with the person I went with the last time around. Sarah and I decided to go wine tasting around my neighborhood so we dropped by BWW for lunch before getting merlot wasted.
For some reason it was better the second time around. It could be because we were both starving, but everything was delicious. The service was also much better which made sense since it wasn't at all busy when we went.

The girls and I went to see Marketa Irglova perform at The Hotel Cafe last night. We decided to have dinner in the area before the show and as it so happens Fuku burger is right across the street from the venue. I'm glad I finally got to try this place after my friend Joan raved about it.
Everything we had was off the hook. There's something about that wasabi mayo sauce.....I want the recipe.

Jazz Fries: garlic fries topped off with brown gravy and crack sauce. SO good

If you're ever in the mood for legit home made Mexican food.....this place is the spot.
If I could, I'd eat here everyday.
Home made tortillas, the best horchata I've ever had, perfect location (walking distance from my house) and the price is perfect.

Geisha House

This spot is probably best known because Ashton Kutcher is one of the owners. We checked out yelp reviews before visiting and was a little taken aback at all the negative reviews. So we decided going in that it might very well be the best worst experience. Fortunately, the yelp reviewers were wrong because we had a great time. The service was on point and the food was excellent. Judy (our waitress) even hooked us up with a round of sake.
I definitely want to come back on a Monday when the menu is 50%.

Capriccio

298 East Main Street
Ventura, CA 93001-2623

I met up with a friend for lunch at Main St. in Ventura. We hadn't seen each other since high school (over a decade ago) so I was focused on catching up. Forgot to take a pic of our sampler and a ton of other stuff. For some reason this is where I always end up eating whenever I'm at main st. We did walk around for a bit trying to decide where to lunch, but somehow Capriccio won.

Pappardelle Gamberetti: ribbon pasta with tomato, shrimp, saffron and arugula

Cioppino: shrimp, scallops, calamari, clams and fresh fish in a spicy tomato broth

After lunch we walked over to where my cousin works for dessert, but he closed down so he could have lunch. We decided to hit up the Thai place right next door for some goodies.
