Noodle Shack (West End, Roatan)

The manager of the hotel where we stayed at raved about this place so of course we had to find it. It was pretty far....the walk there took about 15 minutes. That may not sound like a long time but walking for more than 5 minutes in the scorching heat is killer. We ate here after spending about 6 hours at the beach. It was a great way to end a relaxing day

Dimas said it was the best meal of his life. He loved the food so much he was flagging people down who were walking by the beach to come and eat with us. Ridiculousness. It was a bit on the pricey side but well worth the money. Oddly enough the place was owned and operated by an American couple

where you order

where you sit and eat

enjoying my cerveza

didn't touch that. our noodles were already "thai" spicy

chicken lo mein with peanut sauce

i think my sister got the same thing but with different sauce

hot mess

360 Bar (West End, Roatan)

This place wasn't recommended but we ate there because it was right next to our hotel
It was really just out of convenience because of the heat....we didn't want to walk
Plus by the time we got to Roatan from La Ceiba i had ran out of cash so i made a rule that the places we ate at had to accept credit cards

salad made by a 12 year old (the owner's daughter)

shrimp al ajillo con arroz

sweet and sour chicken con arroz

more shrimp

We loved our dinner food so much we decided to come back the next day for breakfast

american breakfast

eggs benedict

Tong's Thai (West End, Roatan)

Half of the places we ate at in Roatan were via recommendations of the Dolphin hotel staff
So glad we listened to them because the places didn't disappoint

Being that Roatan is an island and a bit far from the mainland the prices were higher
Even the menus had the prices listed in dollars

First up.....Thai food

shrimp pad thai

i really wanted to sit in that area but man it was too hot

they're not stingy with the shrimp size

fried calamari

i put my own garnish

fried rice

calamari curry

The only thing that ticked me off was that it was cash only.....damn Asians

Restaurante Tasbaya (La Ceiba, Honduras)

Located inside Quinta Real hotel in Zona Viva (La Ceiba)

This is what happens when you walk aimlessly in the scorching heat. You end up walking into the first restaurant you see without looking around and only realize when you look at the menu that you're at the fanciest place in town. hell they even charged non-guests a fee if they wanted to use the pool. granted the food was amazing, but damn it cost an arm and a leg

ceviche. they make it with so much lemon it's almost offensive to the palate

the view from our hut

passion fruit juice

fried tortilla. we had to ask them to fry tortillas because i'm not down with crackers

calamari with veggies and mashed potato

mar y tierra. my sister's favorite. fish and meat with veggies and mashed potato

tres leches. they didn't have flan available

Maya Vista (Tela, Honduras)

We had 2 meals at the hotel we stayed at in Tela. The first was dinner then breakfast the next day
It was only convenient since i started a tab. The food was good though and the view was killer. That was the main reason we even stayed there in the first place. It was located at the highest point in the city so you had a 360 view of Tela.

Thank you to everyone at Maya Vista for the excellent service and amazing experience

camarones

halibut

garlic shrimp pasta

view from the restaurant (2nd floor of hotel)

Travel Menu (Antigua)

The bartender at our hotel suggested this place because he said it's where he hangs out on his off days. The food was so-so but it was definitely the spot to be at. The place is American owned so some of the staff were also American which made it convenient with the whole language barrier thing. Every single person there while we were eating happened to be American
It almost felt like i was home

The best part was you can pay in dollars and they give your change back in quetzals

that's all candle wax.....it was trippy

bar

melon shake

chicken, beef, pico de gallo, guacamole, chips and tomatoes

they called this chow mein. what a shame. it was ramen noodles topped with veggies. we had two bites boxed it up and gave it to a Mayan family we met on the streets

no bueno

i loved our tab....how gangsta is that

Doña Luisa Xicoteneatl (Antigua)

The first thing i did as soon as we checked in at our hotel in Antigua was ask the receptionist for restaurant recommendations. She couldn't stop raving about Doña Luisa so that was the first place we ate at. We had brunch there on our first day....loved it so much we went back the next day. Everything about this place is amazing: food, ambiance, service and overall look.
We ate in the garden area because it was so much prettier, there was a second level which seemed like the perfect spot for people watching

Shoutout to Magda who happened to be our server both days.....mucho gusto
